Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Center for Genetic Medicine, the Feinberg School of Medicine, the Northwestern University Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (NU-CATS) and the Northwestern University Biomedical Informatics Center (NUBIC). The Core is focused on clinical research informatics, high-throughput biology analysis (microarrays, proteomics, next generation sequencing) provided by the Consulting Core, headed by Dr. Simon Lin.
Warren Kibbe
Warren Kibbe, Ph.D. is the director of the Core.
Simon Lin
Simon Lin, M.D. is an Associate Director of the Core and the director of the Bioinformatics Consulting Core.
Pan Du
Pan Du, Ph.D., is the Research Assistant Professor and a member of the Consulting Core. The major responsibility includes microarray and proteomics consulting and data analysis.
Dong Fu
Dong Fu, M.S. is the Core's System Administrator, an expert in high performance computing, and is involved in nearly all software adoption, systems testing, and production configuration for the core. He has also been heavily involved in caBIG™ adoption and system configuration, including caGrid, caArray, and works with the Patient Study Calendar and cancer Adverse Event Reporting System (caAERS) teams to run their development, testing and production environments. Dong runs the Core's clusters, file servers, and wikis, among other duties.

Visiting Faculty and Staff
Kyeong Lee
Kyeong Lee, Ph.D., is a visiting faculty member from the Department of Statistics at Kyungpook National University in Daegu, Korea. Dr. Lee is collaborating with Dr. Lin on the application of hierarchical Bayesian models to mass spec data (proteomics). They are developing a hierarchical Bayesian model to integrate several analysis steps into a single model, steps that include peak finding, isotope effect removal, and ICAT quantification.
Students and Interns
Anurag Kondapalli
Anurag Kondapalli is a summer student with us. This is his second summer with us, and he has worked on the application of Web 2.0 technologies in several existing projects, in particular the mining of data from the National Death Index for our clinical research registries.
Google Scholars
We are very pleased to be mentors for six Google Scholars during the summer of 2007. The Google Summer of Code page, as well as a page of our projects are available, and as the projects themselves result in finished code we will be posting those URLs as well.
Check out the g3p, one of our completed GSoC 2007 projects.
